UK Auto Windscreen Chip Repair NOT Replacement
Posted by Glass Doctors
Do you want your windscreen repaired or ruined? 2006 survey results in SHOCKING FACT:
“50% of windscreen chip repairs carried out in the UK are so bad that they serve no purpose whatsoever”*
Remember: If you are insured, you can use who you want to repair your car, it’s the law!**
The repair above was done by a company advertising invisible repairs! ***
When you phone your insurance company and press “option #2 for glass claims” you can then get put straight through to a replacement company who answer in your insurance companies name. You will think you are still speaking to your insurer…They will tell say you “must use the nominated supplier” ( which just happens to be them! ) this is just not true. They may then go on to explain a lot of seemingly plausible reasons as to why a repair may not work for you on this occasion or how it can take a week for them to get out to you. Don’t believe it…get a second opinion…from us…
If you’re shopping for a windscreen repair ask how long the technician was trained on windscreen chip repair for. Most large windscreen companies think you can train a technician in an afternoon! Then they let them loose on your car! Our technicians are trained for at least a month on the job which means you can be assured of a top quality repair every time. Remember, this time of year screens get wet with rain and every night with dew and we constantly use the windscreen washers, so ask how your repairer is going to eliminate the water from the chip, if they say “what water?” or “we just run the heaters for a few minutes” then think again…
Glass Doctors are world leaders in REPAIR not REPLACEMENT of windscreen chips and cracks, We’ve been repairing for 21 yrs (we even originated “the £1 coin rule” that everyone now uses to assess the size of repairable damage)
Do you have a chip smaller than a £1 coin?
Glass Doctors are operatives of a patented process, every other windscreen repair system in the world is a copy of this system. Talk to a real experienced repairer, not an overseas call centre.

- *repairs surveyed were either: not filled sufficiently to prevent further cracking or be optically transparent : still contained water: had the plastic safety layer drilled into: had the pit finish resin starting to go yellow or fall out after a few weeks.
